Install Tips and tricks
These tips will help you achieve a smoother install and the best final result.
• Allow time before trimming
Let the film sit for a short time before trimming. As it dries and grips the glass, cutting becomes smoother and more accurate.
• Warmer conditions help (but aren’t essential)
The warmer the day or window surface, the stronger the cling will become. That said, the film installs well in most conditions — heat simply speeds things up.
• Cut oversized, then trim down
When measuring, allow approximately 5 -10 mm extra on both the height and width of the window. This makes final trimming much easier and more accurate after installation. This tip does not apply to vehicle windows.
• Be generous with soapy water
Don’t be shy with the solution. A well-lubricated window allows the film to glide, reposition easily, and prevents premature sticking.
• Keep everything wet while working
Lightly spraying over the film as you squeegee helps the tool glide smoothly and reduces drag marks.
• Start smoothing from the centre
Work from the centre of the film outward, pushing water and air toward the edges with firm, even strokes.
• Minor bubbles are normal at first
Small moisture bubbles and blur are expected immediately after installation and are not a defect.
• Allow proper curing time
Give the film 24–48 hours to fully cure. During this time, any remaining moisture bubbles will dissipate and the film will become clearer.
• If it’s not right, simply re-adjust
Static cling film is forgiving — if something looks off, gently peel it back, re-spray, and reposition.
